CP)--Garfield County Commissioners will hear a presentation from the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians on Tuesday about the tribe possibly bringing a casino to Garfield County. The meeting will be 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center Pavilion to accommodate the possible large audience. Garfield County Commissioner Clarence Maly requested the item be put on the meeting agenda. He said the tribe contacted him to set up a meeting with commissioners, although there won’t be any action taken during the meeting as it is a presentation being heard. Maly said if a casino were to be built outside of Enid, county commissioners wouldn’t have much say in the matter anyway, but that he’s curious how the tribe plans to acquire the land for a potential casino.
