FC)--A Pond Creek man was killed in a two-vehicle accident that occurred just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon on U.S. 81 at the intersection of Robertson Road, two miles north of Enid. OHP troopers report that 44 year-old Randy Todd Hamilton of Enid, was westbound in a GMC Sierra when he stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of US 81 and Robertson Road. 44 year-old Josh McReynolds of Pond Creek, was traveling north on a motorcycle in the inside lane of U.S. 81 when Hamilton reportedly pulled out from the stop sign in front of McReynolds. Troopers said McReynolds was transported to Integris Bass and pronounced dead. Hamilton and his passenger 44 year-old Kendra Hamilton, 44, Enid were not injured. Troopers report that the accident is under investigation. Seatbelts were in use in the truck, but McReynolds was not wearing a helmet.

SD)--Storm-hit communities across the state are surveying storm damage today after at least eight tornadoes were reported in Oklahoma on Sunday, leaving more than a dozen injured. Damage and injuries were reported near Cheyenne in Roger Mills County in western Oklahoma, as well as in the Norman and Shawnee areas in central Oklahoma. There were several radar-indicated Tornado Warnings issued last night in northern Oklahoma, including Garfield County, but only one brief touchdown north of Cherokee in Alfalfa County. There has been no confirmed damage or injuries in our area.

LS)--The 2023 Northwest Oklahoma Junior District Livestock Show is set to begin Tuesday. Haley Nabors, superintendent of the NWOJDLS said the livestock show, ag mechanics contest and premium sale will take place at the Coliseum at Chisholm Trail County Expo Center. The judged showing of animals will take place Tuesday through Sunday. The show will wrap up with a premium sale on Monday. The beef showcase and steer show will be Tuesday; the heifer show will be Wednesday; The ewe and lamb show will be on Thursday; the sow show will begin Friday; the barrow show will begin Saturday; with the gilt show on Sunday. Corporate sponsors of the show are Great Plains Bank, ADM Grain, Generator Supercenter, NextEra Energy, Edward Jones and Stride Ag Lending. Showmanship sponsors include Farm Credit of Enid, InterBank, Security National Bank and Groendyke Transport.

SH)--Enid Public Schools Board of Education has decided to contract with Oklahoma State School Boards Association to assist in the search for a new superintendent. EPS Superintendent Darrell Floyd announced last week he would retire June 30 after nine years at the EPS helm. OSSBA will work with the EPS Board of Education to establish a search timeline, do marketing and advertising, gather essential qualifications and characteristics, post and manage applications, provide interview guidelines and provide reference check guidelines. The initial cost of the contract with OSSBA is $9,950.

WO)--Beginning on Wednesday there will be a planned water outage to tie-in a new water line, affecting the following areas:

 

Moore Avenue from South 2nd Street to South Leona Mitchell Blvd

South 2nd Street from Frantz Avenue to Steele Avenue

South 3rd Street from Moore Avenue to Steele Avenue

South 4th Street from Frantz Avenue to Steele Avenue

 

Services are expected to be restored by the end of the day.
