CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday. The Study Session will be held at 5:00 p.m., with the Regular Meeting beginning at 6:30. During the study session, commissioners will discuss several topics including a new Animal Welfare Ordinance, Veterans’ Week events, and new wayfinding signs. During the regular meeting the commission is scheduled to consider approving an ordinance amending the process for the recall of elected officials, and address a number of routine business items. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers of the City Administration Building at 401 West Garriott and are open to the public.

MS)--The City of Enid officials, Public Arts Commission of Enid (PACE), and the Enid Parks and Recreation Department invites the public to the Enid Skate Park “Signing of the Mural” by Kiptoe slated for 4:30 p.m. on Thursday at 124 North 5th Street. Matt Dean, known as Kiptoe, is a mural artist and illustrator based in Los Angeles. Using a bright imagination, he paints with strong color palettes and dynamic movement. The mural at the Enid Skate Park will be kinetic art, having motion and dynamic movement within it. There will be a flow of bright colors that show action synonymous with action and movements surrounding skateboarding and scootering.

SN)--The City of Enid invites the public to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for “Pastor Alfred Baldwin Jr. Way.” The ceremony is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and will be held at the corner of First Missionary Baptist Church, 467 E Owen K Garriott Road (corner of East Owen K. Garriott Road and Pastor Alfred Baldwin Jr Way). Commissioner Derwin Norwood said, “We are glad to do this for the family of Pastor Baldwin and his church family. He was well known for getting things done in the community, bringing people together when dealing with civil rights issues, very strong in outreaching to those in need, and very instrumental in building up the faith-based community.” A portion of South 5th Street from East Owen K. Garriott south to Ohio Avenue was renamed officially to “Pastor Alfred Baldwin Jr. Way” by the City Commission on Tuesday, December 15, 2020.

CV)— The Oklahoma State Department of Health late this morning reported 3,571 newly diagnosed COVID-19 cases across the state since Friday’s update. The state health department did not release an updated provisional death count number. Health officials reported that there are 8,432 currently active cases in the state and that the recent three-day average hospitalizations stand at 741.
