IA)--A motorcyclist was hospitalized in Oklahoma City following in a collision with a pickup in Enid just after 4:00 Saturday afternoon at Cleveland and Oklahoma. The man sustained a major, unspecified injury and was taken by Life EMS to Oakwood Mall, where a MediFlight helicopter transported him to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. No other injuries were reported. According to the report, the injured man was not wearing a helmet. EPD is conducting a major collision investigation, into the cause and circumstances of the crash.

SB)--Enid High School will have a new principal for the new school year. Enid High School’s principal is the only district school principal not renewing her contract for the 2021-22 school year. Jennifer Cruz instead is set to resign effective June after the school year ends, pending approval from Enid Public Schools Board of Education during tonight’s meeting. Cruz became EHS Principal last July, succeeding Dudley Darrow, who became EPS assistant superintendent of secondary education. Also during tonight’s meeting, EPS board members are set to also discuss a district audit report and award a contract for installing new gym floors at several elementary schools. Tonight’s meeting will begin at 6:00 in the administrative services building at 500 S. Independence and is open to the public.

CN)—17 more virus-related deaths were reported since Friday, and 165 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state since Sunday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The health department said 12,038 cases are considered active in the state, with 367 people currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The seven-day rolling average for new daily cases reported stand at 611.

There have been 7620 positive COVID-19 cases, and 78 deaths in Garfield County. 6740 of those cases and 70 deaths have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 1997 cases, Alfalfa 1149, Blaine County is at 1005 cases, Major 941, and Grant 540.

LS)—The 87th Annual Northwest District Junior Livestock Show will wrap up tonight with the Premium Sale and Dinner. The six-day event at the Chisholm Trail Expo Center on the Garfield County Fairgrounds hosted nearly 800 4-H and FFA members from across the area showing more than 2,000 animals.

SP)--On Sunday, March 14th, the City of Enid Parks and Recreation department, in partnership with Wes Simmons, will present the "Spring Break Throwdown” skating competition for beginners and advanced skaters at the new Enid Skate Park at 124 North 5th Street.
