BT)--There has been a shakeup in command at Vance Air Force Base. Air Force officials announced Friday Col. Timothy Danielson had been relieved as 71st Flying Training Wing commander at Vance Air Force Base. Maj. Gen. Craig Wills, 19th Air Force commander, relieved Danielson for a loss of trust and confidence in his ability to effectively command the 71st FTW. No specifics were made public. Col. Jay Johnson, 71st FTW’s vice commander, temporarily assumed command of the wing. Danielson took over the reins of the 71st FTW from Col. Corey Simmons, on June 29. The 71st FTW operates more than 200 aircraft, flies more than 50,000 sorties annually and logs more than 74,000 flying hours in the T-1A, T-6A and T-38C.
