WO)--A planned water outage is scheduled for today as part of the Leona Mitchell Boulevard water main and improvement project. According to the city of Enid, the outage will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as workers tie in a new water line. Affected areas are: East State from 3rd to 7th; East Wabash from Pastor Alfred Baldwin Way to 7th; and Pastor Alfred Baldwin Way from Garriott to Wabash.

CT)--Enid Police Department is participating in the nationwide Click It or Ticket campaign through June 5. EPD officials said during this period EPD officers will be out day and night enforcing seat belt and child restraint seat laws with one goal in mind, saving lives. The municipal citation for drivers and passengers not wearing a seat belt is $20, and having an unrestrained or improperly restrained child can result is a $115 citation. Authorities said this is a zero-tolerance enforcement, and if you are stopped and not wearing a seat belt, you will be cited.

LGE)--Leadership Greater Enid is accepting applications for Class XXXIII (33), with a deadline to apply by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14. According to LGE, the vision of Leadership Greater Enid is inspiring today’s leaders for tomorrow, preparing tomorrow’s leaders for today. The mission of LGE is to foster civic engagement, build professional relationships and engage leaders to inspire a collective purpose in our community. There is a mandatory two-day orientation and team-building retreat, seven day sessions, an overnight state government visit and an evening graduation ceremony. WT)--The Community Development Support Association (CDSA) Wine Tour will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 9 at the Non-Profit Center, 114 S. Independence. Foods and wines from the United States, France, Greece, Marshall Islands and Belgium will be paired together for the evening of the event for attendees to try. Cheri Ezzell, executive director of CDSA, said proceeds from the Wine Tour will benefit CDSA’s Early Childhood Services, which Ezzell said are not supported by any grant funds. Tickets are $75, and there are a limited number of $40 tickets for people under 40 years old, which Ezzell said is a way to encourage young people to be involved with CDSA’s services in the Enid community. BB)---United Way of Northwest Oklahoma has partnered with Hanor Family of Companies, Main Street of Enid, Yellow House Machinery, P&K Equipment and Enid Brewing Company to host an annual Bacon Bash cook-off competition and family fun event on July 7. The event will be held on the north lawn of the courthouse and on Independence and Randolph streets, the brew garden will be located on the corner of Randolph and Independence and the band will be playing at the Enid Brewing Company from 7:00-11:00 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top five contestants in the bacon competition. Attendees will be able to sample a variety of bacon recipes, have a chance to take pictures with BIG Machines, sample some tasty micro brews and listen to great music performed by Dually Noted.” The public will be able to sample bacon recipes from 6:00-9:00 p.m. or until the bacon samples run out. Tickets are $10 for 10 samples. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the United Way office, Suite 400 in the Triangle Business Center. Otherwise, they will be sold at the event. FB)--Enid Public Schools is offering free breakfast and lunch starting May 30. The district will provide meals free of charge through June 22 to children 18 and younger at three school sites: Garfield Elementary, 400 N. 7th, Monroe Elementary, 400 W. Cottonwood, and Enid High, 611 W. Wabash.

Breakfast will be available 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All sites will be closed on Fridays and weekends, and meals will not be served on those days.
