FC)--A two-vehicle collision in Canadian County early Tuesday left an Enid woman dead and a local man critically injured. Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said 25 year-old Daniela Ramirez was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 27 year-old Jeremy Ramirez was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center in OKC where he was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk and leg injuries. According to the report, the crash occurred about 1:05 Tuesday morning on US 81 just north of NW 164th Street in El Reno. Authorities said Jeremy Ramirez was driving a 2004 Nissan 350Z. The second vehicle involved in the collision, a 2004 Jeep Liberty, was driven by 19-year-old Johnathan Byrd, of Norman. He was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was treated and released. There were three passengers, all of Norman, also in the Jeep when the collision happened. 32 year-old Tiffany Byrd, was transported to OU Medical C where she was admitted in good condition with leg injuries. 41-year-old James Bailey, was flown via AirEvac to OU Medical Center, where he was admitted in serious condition with head and internal injuries. A 12-year-old child, whose name was withheld in the report, was transported OU Children’s Hospital and admitted in good condition with head and internal injuries. The condition of both drivers as well as the details of the crash remain under investigation.

WS)--The NJCAA Division II College Baseball World Series is set to begin again Saturday, at David Allen Memorial Ballpark. The 10-team bracket and seeding was released Tuesday. Opening Ceremonies will be Friday night, with the first game Saturday morning. Next year, the tournament will expand to 12 teams, with two at-large teams.

DF)--Community members are invited to a retirement reception for Darrell Floyd, superintendent of Enid Public Schools. The come-and-go reception will be Thursday 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Enid High School Spirit Room, located on the second floor of the south side of the EHS gymnasium, 611 W. Wabash. Visitors may enter the building through the southeast doors and use the stairs or the elevator to get to the second floor. Floyd will retire June 30 after nine years of serving EPS. Dudley Darrow will begin as EPS Superintendent July 1.

MM)—Monday is Memorial Day and will feature several events on that day and this weekend at Enid Woodring Regional Airport. Elaine Johns, executive director of Woodring Wall of Honor and Veterans Park said there will be a Medal of Honor ride for cars, trucks and motorcycles that will start at Woodring that Saturday and make stops at numerous veteran gravesites. On Memorial Day, Maj. Gen. Doug Dollar will be the keynote speaker, and a free meal for veterans and their families will be held at the conclusion of events. A representative from Vance Air Force Base will be present to dedicate the mural. During the NJCAA Division II World Series held at David Allen Memorial Ballpark, Memorial Day will serve as Military Night, in which veterans from all eras of war will be in attendance and honored.

PP)--All registered voters living in Drummond and the surrounding area will get to cast their ballots in future elections within the town’s limits. Last year, the polling place for Garfield County residents living west of State highway 132, which affected the majority of Drummond, was moved to the Community Building in Lahoma due to redistricting. There now will be two polling places in Drummond, with this change in effect. Registered voters who live east of Oklahoma 132 still will vote in future elections at the Drummond Volunteer Fire Department. Registered voters living from the intersection of Oklahoma 132 and Fox Road west to the county line and south all the way to the southern county line will vote at Precinct 312, located at Drummond city office, 242 S, Main. People living within the new precinct boundary who do not receive their new voter identification cards by July 1 should contact the election board, located at 903 Failing, by calling (580) 237-6016 or emailing GarfieldCounty@elections.ok.gov.

FB)--Enid Public Schools is offering free breakfast and lunch starting May 30. The district will provide meals free of charge through June 22 to children 18 and younger at three school sites: Garfield Elementary, 400 N. 7th, Monroe Elementary, 400 W. Cottonwood, and Enid High, 611 W. Wabash. Breakfast will be available 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch will be served 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. All sites will be closed on Fridays and weekends, and meals will not be served on those days.
