IA)—Two people were injured, one critically in a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Kingfisher County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said 18 year-old Phillip Kirk Harris of Okarche was AirEvaced to OU Medical Center where he was admitted in critical condition with a head injury. According to the report, the crash occurred at 2:45 Sunday morning on a county road about 10 miles west and two miles south of Kingfisher. Authorities said Harris was southbound on the county road when his Dodge pickup crossed the centerline and struck the Volvo semi driven by 61 year-old Jackie Ralph Shy of Norman head on. Harris, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was pinned in his truck for forty five minutes before being freed. Shy was transported to Mercy Hospital in Kingfisher where he was admitted in stable condition with trunk injuries. Troopers noted an odor of alcohol on Harris.

LS)--The 2023 Northwest Oklahoma Junior District Livestock Show at the Chisholm Trail Expo Coliseum will wrap up this evening. The showing and judging of animals concluded Sunday. The show will wrap up this evening with the premium sale and dinner. EV)—Polls will be open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday for a statewide special election. State Question 820 is a proposed measure to legalize recreational use of marijuana for people 21 years old and older. In addition to State Question 820in Garfield County, Hillsdale voters will vote on the community’s franchise agreement with OG&E. ED)--Enid Day at the Capitol will take place from 8:30-11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the John D. Groendyke Wildlife Building, in the 1800 block of N. Lincoln Blvd. in Oklahoma City. The Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce and a number of sponsors host the annual event that has taken place since 2008, and is an opportunity for leaders of Enid to discuss areas of concern with state leaders. Those confirmed to be attending are city of Enid officials, local legislators Rep. Chad Caldwell, Rep. Mike Dobrinksi, Rep. Carl Newton, Rep. John Pfeiffer, Sen. Roland Pederson and Lt. Gov. Matt Pinnell, as well as representatives from Enid Public Schools, Northwestern, NOC and Autry Technology Center and Leadership Greater Enid Class 32.

CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet in Study Session and Regular Meeting on Tuesday. During the Regular Meeting, commissioners will consider appointing individuals to several citizen advisory boards and commissions, hold public hearings on and consider two rezoning requests, as well as address a number of business items. In the Study Session prior to the Regular Meeting, the commission will hear updates on the Kaw Lake Water Pipeline project, possible future projects at Enid Woodring Regional Airport, and discuss the process and tentative schedule to rename a portion of Johnson Street after Lydell Carr. The Study Session will begin Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., with the Regular Meeting at 6:30. Both will be held in Council Chambers in the City Administration Building and both are open to the public.

BC)--The 4th Judicial District Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) will hold an awareness benefit concert on Saturday, March 18, at Settlers Brewing Company featuring Nashville artist Jake Gill. The 4th Judicial District CASA is a nonprofit organization that walks side by side with a child when they are removed from a home due to abuse or neglect. The group is seeking sponsors and monetary tax deductible donations to cover the cost of the Rock for a Cause event. The $500 title sponsor will get title event naming rights, VIP seating for six and a sponsor mention in all media. A $100 table sponsor receives VIP seating for six and sponsor mention in all media.
