OA)--The One Enid Christ Tree arrived in Enid this morning. The journey of the 140-foot-tall live tree from California’s Shasta-Trinity National Forest where it was harvested was delayed several days by winter weather including a snowstorm along the way. Crews will now begin the multi-day process of setting the tree in place on Park just south of the Stride Bank Center and filling it in with branches. Tens of thousands of lights and decorations will be added in time for the official lighting ceremony during Enid Lights Up the Plains on Friday November 25. Organizers said engineers have worked out a way to better stabilize the tree this year so that wind damage that occurred last year should not be an issue.
