SC)--The Enid City Commission Tuesday night approved a nearly $521,000 contract with Norman-based End Construction for the next phase for Advance Soccer Complex located in the 1500 block of South Garland. The contract covers constructing the flatwork, which consists of the sidewalk, the common area and the area surrounding the championship field. Enid City Manager Jerald Gilbert said this phase of construction should start in November and will be completed in 130 days. Since construction on the complex started last year, fields have been laid out; brick entryways have been built; trees have been planted; light poles have been installed; and more, including work on the fieldhouse. Funded by an Enid Sports Association campaign, donations from the Allen Family Foundation and the McLaughin Family Foundation, and money from the city of Enid, the 60-acre soccer complex will have seven natural grass and turf fields, a 25,000-square-foot fieldhouse, a playground and water features. According to the plans, there will be 210 parking spaces available for vehicles, room for 17 buses, portable scoreboards and spaces inside the fieldhouse for offices and locker rooms.

CL)--A recently released report by doxo,”50 Largest U.S. Cities Household Spending Report 2022”, ranks America's largest cities by the amount spent on household bills. In addition to insights for these cities, doxo also has household spending information for Enid. The average Enid household pays $1,636 a month for the 10 most common household bills. That means the household expenses in Enid, on average, are 18.3% lower than the national average of $2,003, and 0.1% higher than the state average of $1,634. That makes Enid the #26 most expensive city in Oklahoma for household expenses. On average, Enid households spend 39% of their income on household bills.

The data, which doxo has for Enid and Oklahoma as well as 4000 cities across the United States, looks at total amount spent on bills per month, and also breaks down bill payments into ten different categories, including mortgage/rent, utilities, auto loans, cable bills, and more.
