WC)--An 11 year-old Wetumka girl was killed in a single vehicle crash Friday in Blaine County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said the crash occurred on State Highway 51-A north of Southard when the 2011 Jeep driven by 47 year-old Jennifer Lee Hughes Bailey crashed for an unknown reason. Bailey, who was wearing her seat belt was taken by Air Evac to OU Medical Center in OKC and admitted in critical condition with head and multiple injuries. The girl, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said the crash remains under investigation.

 

An Okarche woman was hospitalized Sunday night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver, while walking on a county road west of Okarche in Kingfisher County. Authorities said 39 year-old Karen Marie Alig was transported to OU Medical Center and admitted in stable condition with trunk and leg injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.   

 

An Okeene man was hospitalized following a two-vehicle accident Sunday night on State Highway 51 west of Okeene. 33 year-old Nolan Rackley was airlifted to OU Medical Center and admitted in stable condition with head, leg and trunk injuries. The second driver, 20 year-old Ethan Born of Booker, Texas, was not injured. According to the report, Rackley was cited for Failure to Yield.

PP)—Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday morning to be part of The Paint Enid Pink 5K run fundraiser presented by Integris Health Imaging and My Country 103.1 KOFM. Over 130 runners and walkers participated at Crosslin Park. All of the proceeds from the color fun run, held to raise awareness and money for Project 31, will be donated to the Oklahoma-based agency founded by two-time breast cancer survivor Sarah McLean

SG)--The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office will use funds from a recently received state grant to help pay for overtime and patrol vehicle maintenance to better access high-crime areas in the county. Last week, the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Safe Oklahoma Grant Program awarded $2 million to 58 statewide law enforcement agencies, with $30,000 going to GCSO. Garfield County Sheriff Cory Rink said the funds will help pay overtime for deputies to patrol rural areas where crimes such as diesel and equipment thefts occur.

CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday in Study Session and Regular Meeting. The Study Session will be held at 5:00 p.m., with the Regular Meeting to follow at 6:30. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers of the City Administration Building at 401 West Garriott and are open to the public.

RC)--Enid residents are one step closer to receiving water supply that will transition the city from its sole reliance of groundwater to a mixture of both surface and groundwater, as contractors continue construction on the Kaw Lake water pipeline. Beginning today, North Wheatridge Road will be closed from West Willow to West Chestnut to allow contractors to work on the construction of the pipeline in this area. The work is expected to take three weeks to complete. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour and traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction effort.
