WI)--Water service will be interrupted today for a large portion of Enid as part of the Leona Mitchell Boulevard Water Main and Improvements Project. According to the city of Enid, the outages will be in Southern Heights Addition, East Park Addition, Rock Island Addition, Southern Heights 2nd Addition, Garfield Addition and Garfield 2nd Addition. Workers will be installing a new water line. Service is expected to be restored at the end of the day.

CC)—The Public Library of Enid and Garfield County offers weekly U.S. citizenship classes to help people prepare for the naturalization test and interview. The classes will be held at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday in the Great Plains Room. The course introduces students to historical and cultural information used on the naturalization test and explores the steps of the naturalization process. Classes, which are held in English, are designed for adults who already have obtained a green card and are studying for the exam. AB)-- Main Street Enid’s annual social and awards gala is scheduled for Friday. “A Night on Main Street” will be Mardi Gras-themed and start at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Stride Bank Center. The event is open to the public and will consist of cocktails, a New Orleans-inspired buffet dinner, a silent auction, Main Street awards, a DJ and dancing. There will be a Main Street presentation, and nine awards will be given out to partnering businesses. Mardi Grad-themed attire is encouraged. Park Avenue Thrift has a display up in the store with beads, masks and clothes to fit the theme. Individual tickets for the event are $50, and a sponsored table of eight tickets is $350. LB)--Leonardo’s Children’s Museum will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a special birthday party Saturday. The event will be 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In September 1992, Enid native and astronaut Owen K. Garriott and artist Hellen Mary Walker Garriott founded Enid Arts and Sciences Foundation. They wanted to enrich and inspire children of all ages with fun learning opportunities. Leonardo’s and Adventure Quest were the products of this vision. Leonardo’s opened in September 1995, and Adventure Quest followed a year later. Since then, Leonardo’s has been visited by more than a million guests from Northwest Oklahoma and around the world.
