WP)--A Waukomis man pleaded guilty and was sentenced in two separate cases Monday. 21 year-old Dillon Wayne Lee was charged in October 2021 with one count of transmitting information by computer for purposes of instigating sexual conduct with a minor and one count of blackmail. On the former charge, Lee was sentenced to 10 years with the Department of Corrections, with all but the first seven years suspended, and five years on the latter charge. Lee also was charged in March 2022 with one count of possessing child pornography, one count of downloading child pornography and one count of using access to a computer to violate the Oklahoma Computer Crime Act. On these charges, Lee received 15 years with DOC with all but the first seven years suspended; 10 years with all but the first seven years suspended; and five years with DOC. The sentences for all counts and cases will run concurrently, and Lee will receive credit for time served. He also was ordered to pay just over $12,000 in jail and court costs and fees.

SO)--The Enid Police Department is notifying the public of a sex offender that has registered with the department, as is required by law. EPD was notified by Oklahoma Department of Corrections that Paula Pearson has been classified as a sex offender. Pearson was arrested for statutory rape and pled to the charge of indecent exposure out of North Carolina. She is a white female, 37 years old, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 190 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Pearson resides at 2816 N. 3rd in Enid, which is an approved address as outlined in the Oklahoma Sex Offender Registration Act. Pearson is not wanted for any crimes and has appropriately registered as a sex offender with our department. Whenever a sex offender moves into a location, the police department of that jurisdiction is required by state statute to notify residents.

WO)--There will be a planned water outage today at the intersection of East Chestnut and North 10th, with the following areas will be affected:

 

·        On North 10th Street from East Birch to 2nd Pine

·        On East Chestnut from North 8th to North 11th

 

This closure will allow contractors to install a new water line. Services are expected to be restored by 4:00 p.m.

FL)--U.S. Third District Congressman Frank Lucas will hold town hall meetings in Northwest Oklahoma on Aug. 17-18. Lucas will discuss recent work in Congress, take questions about issues important to constituents of the 3rd Congressional District and seek input on legislation currently before Congress. Residents are invited to attend and share their thoughts on current events in Washington, D.C., and across Oklahoma. Meetings will be:

 

• Aug. 17, 1-2 p.m. at Chisholm Trail Museum, 605 Zellers in Kingfisher.

• Aug. 17, 3-4 p.m. at Watonga city hall, 410 W. Main in Watonga.

• Aug. 18, 2-3 p.m. at Fairview Community Center, 206 E. Broadway in Fairview.
