MP)--Most Medford residents have returned home after evacuations following a gas plant explosion and fire over the weekend. The incident at the ONEOK facility forced nearly 1,000 Medford residents to evacuate. No deaths or injuries were reported. On Monday, the city said most residents should be back at home and the radius of evacuations has been reduced to one mile. Most of the people evacuated were relocated to hotels in Enid with ONEOK picking up the bill. Less than a dozen homes are still evacuated but ONEOK told KOCO 5 there is no current threat of another explosion. They also said the investigation is still in the early stages.
