IR)—The “Holidays on Ice” ice skating rink in Stride Bank Center’s south parking lot in downtown will open at noon Saturday. Main Street Executive director Natalie Beurlot said, “Due to high winds, we were unable to build ice safe enough for the public to skate on. Safety is our number one priority and we look forward to providing a better experience for everyone to enjoy on Saturday.” Around 10,000 skaters took to the ice last winter. This year the rink will be open Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve, but closed Christmas day. Season tickets and group events and parties can be ordered now through Stride Bank Center by calling (580) 616-7381. Williams Media Group, KOFM-KGWA, is the rink’s sponsor.

FG)--The Enid Public School Foundation presented their Fall Teacher Grants Thursday to many deserving teachers across the district. Foundation officials presented 43 grants totaling $32,503.Grants included a variety of subject matters and age levels, and are selected using criteria that focuses on innovation and impact to student learning.

PD)--A Ponca City man was arraigned Thursday in Garfield County District Court on four counts of Lewd or Indecent Acts to a Minor Child under 12. 74 year-old Billy Hocker is charged with fondling four children on multiple occasions. Hocker was released on $50,000 bond.

CN)— Fifteen virus-related deaths and 970 newly confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Thursday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Currently, 8,801 Oklahomans are considered active cases in the state, with 424 people currently hospitalized in Oklahoma for treatment of the virus.
