FD)--Official details remain scarce about a series of fights at Enid High School on Friday that reportedly left both several students and staff injured. Enid Public Schools Superintendent Darrell Floyd did say students have been suspended as a result of the fights between two groups of students. Reports by students and parents were posted online Friday of multiple fights, injuries of school staff and arrests at the high school, but Enid campus police have not issued an official statement. The incident remains under investigation.

CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday. The commission will meet in Study Session beginning at 5:00, then meet in Regular Session beginning at 6:30. According to the agenda, commissioners will hold a public hearing on a rezoning request for property in the 1100 block of West Willow, address a number of routine business items, consider approving a Best Practices Handbook for governing body officials, and address items related to the Kaw Lake Water Pipeline Project. Both meetings will be held in Council Chambers and are open to the public.

FW)—Thank you to all of the runners, walkers and generous sponsors for Saturday’s inaugural “Paint Enid Pink” 5K color run presented by Zoom Diagnostic Imaging. Despite the early rainy weather, a good time was had by all at Crosslin Park. Most importantly money was raised in support of breast cancer patients and survivors, as all proceeds from the race will go toward Project 31, an Oklahoma- and faith-based nonprofit support group for breast cancer patients and survivors.

RW)--The outside east bound lane of West Willow Road has been closed at the North Grand intersection. The lane closure is expected to take approximately three weeks to complete and will allow construction crews to install a new gas main. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during the construction effort.

EQ)--There was an earthquake Sunday located two and half miles southwest of Lahoma near the Major County / Garfield County line. The US Geological Survey measured the 2.6 magnitude earthquake just after 9:15 Sunday morning.

CV)— One hundred and forty virus-related deaths and 3,839 newly confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Friday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. The state health department broke down the 3,839 cases and said 1,537 cases were reported Saturday, 1,517 were reported Sunday and 785 were reported on Monday. Officials say 967 people are currently hospitalized in Oklahoma for treatment of the virus. The seven-day rolling average for new daily cases reported was 1,331.

On Thursday October 7, Oklahoma’s First Lady Sarah Stitt will be hosting the first-ever Hope Summit in Enid. SP)--City of Enid Parks and Recreation announced the closure of the Hoover and Champion splash pads for the 2021 season. Sunday, October 10th, will be the last day to take a splash. The hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week. The Hoover Splash Pad is located at 3000 West Oklahoma, and the Champion Splash Pad is located at 700 North 10th Street. Both city splash pads are scheduled to reopen for the 2022 Summer Season.
