CC)--The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners Tuesday renewed its annual contract with the city’s economic development entity. Enid Regional Development Alliance will be contracted for $600,000 to promote the city’s economic development by attracting and retaining businesses and industries during the current fiscal year. ERDA and its board of directors develop and recommend for Enid City Commission approval local incentives to existing or potential businesses. The organization also provides grants for entrepreneurs, and small businesses. In other business last night, the commission approved the collective bargaining agreement with the local firefighters’ union that will include three pay increases over the next two years.

DC)--More than 100 city managers in Oklahoma will be in downtown Enid for an annual three-day conference. Starting this afternoon and continuing through Friday at Stride Bank Center This year’s conference of the City Management Association of Oklahoma will promote the profession of city management and administration through classes and forums.

RM)—About 20 people were on hand Tuesday night to discuss redistricting efforts for the Oklahoma Senate and House during a town hall meeting in Enid. Legislators and redistricting office staff answered questions and took comments from the public during the meeting. Every 10 years, the Oklahoma Legislature is required by law to redraw state legislative and congressional district lines to reflect changes following the federal decennial census.

EO)--The Enid Outlaws open the playoff finals tonight on t6he road. The Outlaws defeated San Diego to advance to the finals in The Basketball League. They play the Syracuse Stallions in a best of three series. Game 1 is tonight in Syracuse.  After going to Syracuse for Game 1, the Outlaws will host the Stallions for games 2 and game 3 if necessary in Enid. Game 2 will be on Saturday 7:00 p.m. and Game 3 will be on Sunday at 6:00 p.m., with both games being played at the Stride Bank Center. Tickets are on sale on now. They can be purchased on the second floor of the Stride Bank Center or online at StrideBankCenter.com.

CN)— Five more newly confirmed virus-related deaths and 1,203 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state since Tuesday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Currently, 5,799 Oklahomans are considered active cases in the state, with 451 people hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The seven-day rolling average for new cases reported was 750.

There have been 7856 positive COVID-19 cases, and 139 deaths in Garfield County. 6950 those cases and 128 deaths have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 2063 cases, Alfalfa 1156, Blaine County is at 1056 cases, Major 960, and Grant 551.
