VB)--The Veterans Memorial Bridge, which carries traffic over the BNSF Rail Yard at the 600 block of North Van Buren will be officially dedicated this morning at 10:30 at ABC Park. Public parking for the event will be on Kenwood Boulevard, north of ABC Park. The City of Enid, Enid AM AMBUCS, and the State of Oklahoma encourages residents to join in honoring veterans to kick-off the Memorial Day weekend.

LC)—Today the outside lane on northbound U.S. Highway 81 near the corner of West Oak will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This closure will allow OG&E to perform work on the electrical lines in preparation of providing power to the street lights. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted construction signs and to drive with extreme caution in this area during this effort.

MD)--In observance of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday, City of Enid administration offices, Enid Public Transit, Enid Public Library, Enid Animal Welfare, and the recycle center will be closed. The landfill will be open with operating hours from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the Meadowlake Golf Course will be open with tee times starting at 7:00 a.m. There will be no yard waste pickup on Monday. Due to the holiday, the city reminds residents to place their green yard waste polycarts out with their blue trash polycarts to be picked up on the same day as the regular trash collection.

WS)—The NJCAA Division II World Series will begin Saturday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark in downtown Enid. Ten Junior College teams, including Western Oklahoma State College, will compete for the championship. The World Series consists of two five-team brackets with the winners of each meeting in a Championship Series beginning Friday June 4th. The number of games in the series will vary based on the number of losses of both teams.
