NO)--The Enid police Department has added two new officers. Neal Storey and Kevin Hart are the newest officers. Both officers are already certified in Oklahoma as peace officers and will spend the next two weeks on orientation, paperwork, city geography and other requirements of new officers. Storey comes to Enid from Edmond and Hart from Oklahoma City.

NE)--The Enid Fire Department will soon be using new life saving technology. They just received the first batch of 3M Scott InSight hands-free thermal imaging systems, which will make the technology hands-free with view screens mounted inside their masks. The department's Captains and Lieutenants will be wearing them in the very near future.

CN)— 41 newly-confirmed virus-related deaths and 369 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state since Wednesday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Officials said 222 people are currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The seven-day rolling average for new daily cases reported was 374.

There have been 7672 positive COVID-19 cases, and 84 deaths in Garfield County. 6773 of those cases and 74 deaths have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 2018 cases, Alfalfa 1151, Blaine County is at 1013 cases, Major 949, and Grant 547.

IW)--OG&E crews will be relocating a power pole on the northwest corner of Owen K. Garriott and South Grand today and Friday. The work will cause the intersection to operate as a 4-way stop with flashing red signal lights as crews work. Motorists are encouraged to drive with extreme caution in this area during the work effort.

VC)-- Beginning Monday, all Oklahomans who are 16 and older will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. Maggie Jackson, regional director of community engagement and planning for OSDH, said the Pfizer vaccine is available for 16- and 17-year-olds, and the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available to those 18 and older. At the Oakwood Mall vaccination clinic, only the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines will be available. Appointments for next week are open and can be made online at www.vaccinate.oklahoma.gov/en-US/ or by calling 211. The clinic will run 8:00 a.m. to noon Monday-Friday.
