This will be restaurant number 16 for the brand and will be located in the 3600 block of West Garriott in the former Appleby’s location. In making the announcement, Bricktown Brewery President Buck Warfield said, “We’ve had our eye on Enid for quite some time and are extremely pleased to now have the opportunity to come to Enid and be part of the community.” The new Bricktown Brewery in Enid will be serving shareable plates, crafted burgers, hand-built sandwiches, artisanal pizzas, salads, and desserts. GK)--A Kingfisher man has been convicted of second-degree murder in the 2019 death of his girlfriend. Enid News and Eagle reports a Kingfisher County jury on Thursday found Steven Stricker guilty of second-degree murder in the death of Barbara Baber after finding him not guilty of first-degree murder. The jury deliberated about four hours. The jury set punishment at life in prison. Before the murder verdict, Stricker on Tuesday pleaded guilty a second charge against him, desecration of a human corpse. He received a seven-year sentence to run consecutive with the murder sentence. Stricker was charged with killing, dismembering and burning Baber’s body at a Kingfisher residence in April 2019.

IA)--Six people were injured, including a baby who was hospitalized, after an Enid man reportedly fell asleep while driving in Major County Friday afternoon. Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials said 42 year old James Cayot of Enid feel asleep while driving on State Highway 58 about three miles south of Fairview. His vehicle left the roadway and rolled one time, coming to rest on its wheels. He was treated and released from Fairview Medical Center. He had five passengers. A 3 month old infant from Enid was admitted to OU Children's Hospital in critical condition with head injuries. 35 year old Sarah Schultz of Enid was treated and released from OU Med. A 13 year old female from Harker Heights, Texas was treated and released from Fairview Medical Center. Another 13 year old female from Fairview was treated and released from Okeene Hospital. 18 year old Jeremiah Cayot of Harker Heights, Texas was treated and released from Fairview Medical Center.

FL)--Enid Police officers Saturday morning arrested a man who stole a Frito Lay truck and led law enforcement on a chase that started in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Garfield County Sheriff’s Office units pursuing the truck requested assistance from Enid police at about 8:30 a.m. according to authorities, the driver, identified as 34 year-old Joshua Karpe, had struck several law enforcement vehicles with the stolen truck. Garfield County Sheriff Cory Rink said Karpe side-swiped his 2016 Chevy and struck a sheriff’s deputy’s 2020 Dodge Durango, but Rink said neither he nor the deputy was injured. Enid officers were asked to set up at 66th and Southgate, but the pursuit continued west of the location. Enid officers located the vehicle turning north on 30th, where the truck was traveling very slowly, and approached the vehicle and ordered the driver out. Karpe complied and was taken into custody. Enid Police Karpe was taken by OCPD and booked into Oklahoma County Jail.

CN)—31 newly-confirmed deaths and 959 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the state since Friday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. 254 people are currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus. The seven-day rolling average for new cases reported was 380.

There have been 7656 positive COVID-19 cases, and 82 deaths in Garfield County. 6773 of those cases and 74 deaths have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 2004 cases, Alfalfa 1150, Blaine County is at 1012 cases, Major 948, and Grant 543.

IW)--OG&E crews will be relocating a power pole on the northwest corner of Owen K. Garriott and South Grand on Thursday and Friday. The work will cause the intersection to operate as a 4-way stop with flashing red signal lights as crews work. Motorists are encouraged to drive with extreme caution in this area during the work effort.
