OS)—The Oklahoma Sooners built a 17 point halftime lead before holding off the Iowa State Cyclones 27-21 to win their 6th straight Big 12 Football Championship Saturday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. After chipping away at OU’s three-score lead, ISU had the ball and a timeout down six points, with 1:55 left in the fourth quarter. Iowa State quarterback Brock Purdy had the Cyclones cooking inside OU’s 35-yard line, but the Cyclones never got any close. Two false starts, a confused Cyclone offense and yet another desperate Purdy pass ended with a third and game-ending interception by OU. On Sunday, the Sooners (8-2) finished 6th in the final CFB Playoff rankings. The Final Four will see Alabama vs Notre Dame in one semi-final, and Clemson vs Ohio State in the other.
