CC)--The Enid Charity Ball Committee and Northwest Osteopathic Foundation presented $39,000 to Enid Community Clinic this week, to support the clinic’s ongoing operations. The check represents the proceeds from the Enid Charity Ball fundraiser and a matching donation from Northwest Oklahoma Osteopathic Foundation (NOOF). The charity ball usually takes place in August, but was cancelled this year due to public health concerns. The Enid Charity Ball committee turned to a mail-in fundraiser, and Northwest Oklahoma Osteopathic Foundation offered to match all contributions up to $25,000. The mail-in effort garnered $19,500, which was matched by NOOF to the total of $39,000. The 2021 annual gala and live auction will take place at Oakwood County Club coming up in August.

TL)--City officials say the Service Center Drop Site, located at the 1500 block W. Chestnut, and the South Government Springs Park Drop Site, located at 1202 S. 10th Street, will close to residents on Friday at 5:00 p.m. The closure of the drop sites is due to the lack of usage of the drop sites by residents, and will also allow crews to focus on picking up debris and limbs from residential areas. Residents may continue to dispose of tree limbs and debris for free through November 30th at the City Landfill, located at 1313 East Southgate Road. The operating hours are: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; and Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

As a reminder, to prepare for removal of debris and tree limbs, residents are asked to do the following:

  • Stack tree limbs near the curb away from obstructions like fire hydrants, mailboxes, trash cans, and water meters
  • Piles should NOT be below electric power lines or low hanging branches
  • Cut tree limbs and logs into sections 10 feet long or shorter
  • Set debris and limbs in a separate pile from trash waste pickup

City officials are asking all residents to be patient during this extensive cleanup project as it will take crews several weeks to remove all debris.
