CV)— Eleven more virus-related deaths and 1,628 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the state since Wednesday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Officials said 910 Oklahomans are currently hospitalized for treatment of the virus. A total of 112,483 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the total number of deaths stands at 1,221.

 

There have been 2310 positive COVID-19 cases, and 25 deaths in Garfield County. 2118 of those cases and all 25 deaths have been in Enid. Currently, Garfield County is in a "moderate risk" or Orange Level 2 category as defined by the OSDH. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 522 cases, Blaine County is at 197 cases, Major 160, Alfalfa 115, and Grant 84.

EC)--The annual HalloweEnid Food Truck or Treat Festival, which was set for Oct. 31 in the 200 block of East Maple, has been canceled. Tammy Wilson, with Enid Event Co., said it was due to the effects of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Wilson said she hopes to pick back up with a food truck festival in March.

 

You can join My Country KOFM this Saturday at Oakwood Bowl’s annual Trunk or Treat candy giveaway. The event will take place on the Oakwood Bowl parking lot on West Garriott beginning at 6:00 p.m.

CT)--The International Chisholm Trail Association (ICTA) is inviting the public to “Zoom Up the Chisholm Trail” Friday, during a full-day virtual conference on the history and heritage of the historic cattle trail. “Zooming Up the Chisholm Trail” will be presented 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Friday, via the Zoom online platform. During this day-long event, attendees will “hear about some of the perhaps lesser-known history about the Chisholm Trail.” Registration fee for the online event is $25, which includes 2021 membership dues for ICTA. A video recording of the entire conference also will be archived for viewing later, for members who register. LF)--Loaves & Fishes of Northwest Oklahoma is asking the community to help celebrate its 8th birthday by bringing food donations to the Food Drive Birthday Parade, 3:00-6:00 p.m. Friday. The drive-through food drive will accept food donations at Loaves & Fishes, 701 E. Maine. Katie Long, director of operations at Loaves & Fishes, said the birthday celebration will help the food resource 663 households. Last month, that number was up to 905. For the safety of donors and volunteers, donors are asked to not exit their vehicles during the Food Drive Birthday Parade. Loaves & Fishes is asking especially for the following food items: canned cranberry sauce center meet a boom in demand that continues due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Loaves and Fishes currently is serving as many as 300 households per week. In September 2019 Loaves & Fishes served, canned peaches, canned pears, canned green beans, canned peas, boxes of stuffing or dressing, instant mashed potatoes and rice. BS)--The Hospice Circle of Love Fall Book Sale will be Friday and Saturday at 314 South 3rd Street. Hardback books are $1.00 and paperbacks are .50 cents. The sale is one of the main fundraisers for the non-profit group.

AB)--The deadline is fast approaching for registered voters in  Garfield County to apply for absentee ballots to be mailed to them for the General Election and Lahoma Special Election. Garfield County Election Board Secretary Michael Frisbie said applications for absentee ballots must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, to be processed in time for the election. For fastest response time, deliver your forms to the Election Board Office in person. Absentee voters may apply in person at the County Election Board office or may send their applications by mail, fax, or e-mail. OC)—The local drive-in concert featuring contemporary Christian duo King&Country has been postponed. The concert, original scheduled for August 26, will now be in concert, 8:00 p.m. October 29th in the parking lot at Chisholm Trail Expo Center on the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Spectra Venue Management, Stride Bank Center and Chisholm Trail Expo Center are teaming up for the drive-in concert experience. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8:00. Ticket prices will be per vehicle, with a maximum of five people per vehicle, and are $160, $210 and $310. Parking will be general admission within the designated price levels. Tickets go on sale to the public 10 a.m. July 24 at stridebankcenter.com, Stride Bank Center Box Office or at 855-TIX-ENID.

WR)--Enid's Wheels & Reels will be back later this month. Friday, October 30th Ghostbusters will be played on the big screen. Park your vehicle and enjoy a great film at an outdoor cinema theater. Enid's Wheels and Reels is a series of movies being played at Chisholm Trail Expo Center parking lot, where you are able to socially distance and enjoy a movie on the big screen. Tickets are $5 (plus taxes and fees) for adults and $4 (plus taxes and fees) for children 12 and under. Entrance gate is located right off Purdue. Gates open at 5:45 pm. Movie starts at 7:00 pm.
