CV)—No new virus-related deaths and 869 new confirmed coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Sunday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. A total of 70,223 Oklahomans h.ave tested positive in confirmed tests for COVID-19 and the total number of deaths stayed static at 905. The health department said 10,311 cases are considered active in the state, meaning so far 59,007 Oklahomans have recovered from the virus with 447 more cases considered recovered since Sunday. A total of 499 Oklahomans were hospitalized for treatment of COVID-19 as of Friday evening.
There have been 1333 positive COVID-19 cases, and 17 deaths in Garfield County. 1255 of those cases and 17 deaths have been in Enid. Currently, Garfield County is in a "moderate risk" or Orange Level 2 category as defined by the OSDH. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 303 cases, Blaine County is at 98 cases, Major 67, Grant 32, and Alfalfa 37.

CT)—The Enid Police Department is asking the public for its help in an investigation of a theft of windows, lumber and tools from a construction site. On Sept. 4, police took a report from the construction superintendent of Colton’s Steak House, 705 S. Cleveland. The superintendent said sometime between midnight and 4:00 a.m. Aug. 10 nine windows of varying sizes were taken from the site. He also said various lumber, tools and scaffolding were stolen prior to Aug. 10. The value of the windows taken is just under $9,400. BR)--Repairs to the West Rupe Avenue bridge are scheduled to begin today, about 1/4 mile east of Cleveland on Rupe. It should take five days to complete. There will be no lane closures, but workers will be in the area, so drive carefully.

AM)--YWCA Enid will host its annual meeting and 100th anniversary celebration 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Grand Ballroom at Stride Bank Center. The event begins with lunch, followed by the annual meeting at noon. District Attorney Mike Fields is the scheduled speaker for the annual meeting, and YWCA Enid also will discuss and vote on revisions to the organization's bylaws. AF)--The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center has opened a new exhibit titled American Farmer. The exhibit showcases 45 images selected from the works of photographer Paul Mobley. As he traveled across the United States, Mobley set out to capture the soul of the country’s farm communities by highlighting enduring rural traditions, family, integrity, close connections to the land, and hard work. The resulting images are a series of portraits of farmers in their local settings, exploring how their day-to-day work affects the greater world. American Farmer will be on exhibit at the Heritage Center through October 20. Visitors to the Heritage Center will need to maintain social distancing throughout the galleries, and are required to wear face masks during their visit.
