IA)--Three Enid teens were injured in a single vehicle accident Saturday morning just before 2:40 at the intersection of Imo Road and West Chestnut, 1 mile west of Enid. 18 year old Dalton Arrington of Enid was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima southbound on Imo Road, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Arrington was pinned for about 30 minutes before being extracted by the Enid Fire Department. He was taken to OU Medical Center in OKC by Mediflight, and listed in critical condition with head, arms, legs and trunk injuries. A passenger, 19 year old David Hennessey of Enid was admitted to St. Mary's in stable condition with arms, legs and trunk injuries. Another passenger, 18 year old Dominic Howell of Enid was admitted in St. Mary's in stable condition with trunk, and leg injuries. A third passenger, a 17 year old female, refused treatment at the scene.

CV)— Two new virus-related deaths and 397 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Sunday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. A total of 43,963 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the total number of deaths went up to 605. State health department officials said 6,980 Oklahomans are considered active COVID-19 cases. A total of 3,625 Oklahomans have been hospitalized due to the virus with 594 patients in the hospital as of Friday evening.

 

There have been 460 positive COVID-19 cases, and five deaths in Garfield County. 426 of those cases and all five deaths have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Kingfisher County has reported 139 cases, Blaine County is at 42 cases, Major 34, Grant 13, and Alfalfa 3.

RW)--The area of 600 South Adams will be closed beginning Tuesday. This closure is expected to last approximately two weeks and will allow contractors to complete concrete repairs. The intersection of North 19th Street and East Chestnut will be closed beginning Thursday. This closure is expected to last approximately two weeks and will allow contractors to complete concrete repairs. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted traffic control signs and drive with caution in construction areas.

PP)--The Enid SPCA Pet Pantry is almost out of food. The Pantry helps people in our community feed their animals during difficult times. Officials said the ESPCA needs donations to provide the service. If you would like to help out, any brand of dry dog and cat food, canned food, kitty litter, and any type of treats are needed.

AS)--Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, 507 S. 4th, is hosting an art show of Oklahoma-inspired work in multiple media, running through Aug. 19. The show, which is the center’s exhibit gallery, features the work of Jena Kodesh, Cheryl Swanson and Linda Heller. Featured pieces include oil paintings, oil enhanced photographs and three-dimensional pieces, and the art is available for purchase. Visitors to the Heritage Center will need to maintain social distancing throughout the galleries, and are required to wear face masks during their visit. OC)--Contemporary Christian duo for King&Country will appear in a drive-in concert, 8:00 p.m. Aug. 27 in the parking lot at Chisholm Trail Expo Center on the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Spectra Venue Management, Stride Bank Center and Chisholm Trail Expo Center are teaming up for the drive-in concert experience. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. and the concert will begin at 8:00. Ticket prices will be per vehicle, with a maximum of five people per vehicle, and are $160, $210 and $310. Parking will be general admission within the designated price levels. Tickets go on sale to the public 10 a.m. July 24 at stridebankcenter.com, Stride Bank Center Box Office or at 855-TIX-ENID.
