Residents are asked to call and register and schedule a time slot. Slots for residents calling Tuesday are subject to availability. COVID testing will be nasal swab. Insurance is not required and there is no charge for testing. Any resident is welcomed to test whether they are symptomatic or asymptomatic.

CC)—The Enid Mayor and Board of Commissioners will meet Tuesday evening. According to the agenda, Commissioners will hold several public hearings dealing with topics including commercials medical marijuana growing, and the rezoning of several properties. In other business, the commission will deal with items pertaining to a skate park, public records, consider approving a 2-year collective bargaining deal with the Enid Police Department, and address a number of contracts for goods and services. Prior to the regular meeting, Commissioners will meet in study session to discuss a proposed project to renovate and reopen the Trail Drive-In, and the transition from the Animal Control Department to Animal Welfare. Tuesday’s study session will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Lower Level Conference Room. The regular meeting at 6:30 in Council Chambers of the City Administration Building. Both meetings are open to the public.

CV)--One new death and 434 new coronavirus cases were reported in the state since Sunday, according to daily numbers released late this morning by the Oklahoma State Department of Health. A total of 16,362 Oklahomans have tested positive for COVID-19 and the total number of deaths is up to 399. A total of 1,686 Oklahomans have been hospitalized due to the virus with 368 patients in the hospital as of Thursday.
There have been 82 positive COVID-19 cases, and two deaths in Garfield County. 80 of those cases have been in Enid. In surrounding counties: Noble has reported 47 cases, Kingfisher County has reported 33 cases, Blaine County is at 17 cases, Major 8, Grant 2, and Alfalfa 1.

CS)--Enid police are seeking information about a recent theft. Sometime around July 1st, someone stole about $125,000 worth of copper cable in the 800 block of North 66th Street. According to Enid Police, five 50-foot spools of 2-inch black plastic coated copper cables were taken. SR)--Despite a significant downturn in oil and gas production tax collections, Oklahoma's economy showed improvement in June. State Treasurer Randy McDaniel recently released the monthly Gross Receipts to the Treasury report. Total receipts in June topped $1.1 billion and were below collections from June 2019 by $56.4 million, or 4.9%. This is marked improvement from April and May. Twelve-month collections, reflecting economic performance during fiscal year 2020, total $13.01 billion and are down by $585.5 million, or 4.3%, from fiscal year 2019.

FF)--Senior and low-income residents in the Enid area can receive free electric box fans thanks to a partnership between OG&E, RSVP of Enid, United Way of Enid & Northwest Oklahoma, The Salvation Army of Enid and Stride Bank. Christy Baker, Executive Director of RSVP of Enid said, the partnerships will allow 250 fans to be dispersed to the homes of the area’s most vulnerable.
