In recognition of National Dump the Pump Day on June 21st 2018, the City of Enid Mayor Bill Shewey has proclaimed Thursday June 21st as DUMP THE PUMP DAY in Enid. Public transit is a benefit to communities by connecting people to jobs and retail, medical and entertainment venues. It has been shown that people who ride public transit can save on average $9,894 per year over the cost of owning a car. Public transportation use saves 4.2 billion gallons of gasoline annual.
The Enid Transit will participate in the 13th annual event by encouraging people to ride public transportation as a way to further economic growth and drive economic development. To encourage the public’s participation in DUMP THE PUMP, Enid Transit will offer a free ride to everyone who calls this Wednesday, June 20th or Thursday, June 21st and schedules a ride in advance.
